Thanks to Those Who Helped Spread Idaho’s Message Far & Wide !!

Author: 912 Project Idaho | Date: March 22, 2010

WE JUST WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT ..... to those faithful 9-12ers who showed up at the “KILL THE BILL” Rally last Saturday in front of Walt Minnick’s Meridian office.  Even with very little advance notice you came out with your home made signs, and your home grown patriotism, to stand firmly in opposition to the enormous health care bill that loomed ahead of us.  It was important to those who participated that Minnick knew we were watching, and that we expected him to make good on his promise to vote against it.

Thank you so much for supporting a need to be seen and heard when it mattered most!  You are simply the BEST!!  As a result of your effort, our local rally was seen in the Nampa press and as far away as….... scroll down to see!

MERIDIAN — A crowd opposed to the health-care overhaul moving through Congress gathered in Meridian Saturday to express their concerns about the sweeping legislation.

Gina Egusquiza of Nampa, who is involved with Tea Party Boise, said the event drew about 75 “conservative Americans” to the steps of Meridian City Hall, where U.S. Rep. Walt Minnick has an office. She said they came to thank Minnick, a Democrat, for his opposition to the bill and ask him to hold strong against bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.
“He definitely said he was voting no, that he agreed we needed reform, but not what was in this bill,” Egusquiza said.

The congressman called during the rally, and participants went inside and got to ask him several questions, she said.

U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson also opposes the bill, and both Idaho senators voted against it.

Egusquiza said the event allowed its participants to have a voice, and several dozen people stood up and got the opportunity to “shout out what their frustrations were.”
“We absolutely do not need this health care bill,” Egusquiza said. “We need health care reform, but not this bill.”

Tea Party Boise and others opposed to the measure said they put on the “Kill the Bill” rally out of concern for the health-care overhaul’s cost, increase in government intervention in personal decisions and other objections.

Thoughts from the Idaho delegation

U.S. Rep. Walt Minnick, D-Idaho, opposed the House version of the health-care overhaul, saying “the bill does nothing to train more doctors, while at the same time raising taxes and adding billions to our national debt, something Idahoans rightly will not stand for in these tough times.”

U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, has consistently opposed the health-care overhaul championed by Democrats.
“This bill will raise your taxes, create a massive new entitlement program and do little to address the problems in our current health system.”

That’s Atlanta, Georgia folks, not Atlanta, Idaho!  But then, we have to admit… it’s a good one!  Does anyone
recognize this focused and resolute 9-12 patriot?
