Please take the time to participate in this important member survey that will determine what theme the 9-12 Project will adopt for our 2010 rally.  Each of these proposals has been submitted by members, and each brings some great potential for a very worthwhile gathering.  So please consider what each has to offer and choose the one you’d prefer we use.

FOLLOWING IS A MORE COMPLETE DESCRIPTION OF EACH THEME:

1. “Constitution Day” - To celebrate the ratification of the Constitution.  Normally, Sept 17 (1787), when 39 of the 42 delegates at the Constitutional Convention “subscribed” to the document.  This could be promoted as a “re-dedication to the principles of freedom” contained in this unique and cherished American document.

2. “Restoring Honor”  - Saturday, Aug. 28th. (Consistent with what Beck is doing in DC.)  A non-political, non-partisan rally that will recognize our First Amendment rights and honor the service members who fight to protect those freedoms.  Beck is requesting donations to benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF).  Should we consider doing the same?

3. “9-12 Freedom Rally” - Sunday, Sept. 12th.  As before, with a march to the Capitol steps in keeping with the true 9-12 “spirit of unity”.  It’s what makes us who we are!

4. “Defending Liberty!” - Sunday, Sept. 12th.  Because that is what we are really all about… stopping the federal government’s encroachment on our liberties and freedoms.

5.  “Uniting to Remember” - Saturday Sept. 11th .  A memorial, not a protest.  To remind people that the threat is just as severe now as it was 9 years ago.  Perhaps a march from the depot with stop @ Anne Frank memorial. Possibly building on the the Jewish people’s ‘Never Again’ motto by proclaiming “NEVER AGAIN, AMERICA”!!

THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE SUBMITTED THEIR IDEAS!  We will watch together as the “group decision” develops here.  Then, we’ll open a related discussion at a Member Mixer we’re planning for Friday, April 9th.  Look for a separate email announcement for more info on that.
