Rebuttal to Rabbi Fink decrying the Health Freedom Act
First off let’s debunk the myth the President’s health care “reform” has anything to do with reform. I like the saying, “A problem well defined is partially resolved”.  The problem with our health care system has been cost which has restricted access to health care. I knew that Obama was being disingenuous about “reform” when at the beginning of the process of health care being pushed through he said that, “tort reform is off the table”.  Since medical malpractice adds billions to the cost of health care it seems like anyone that was serious about addressing access to health care would be interested in tort reform. Real health care reform that addresses cost is needed not this sham!
What other warning signs do I have that the Presidents heath care push was not about “reform”. When you have over 6 million Americans unemployed and that is not the primary focus of the government. Not only is being able to provide for your family more devastating than “health care reform” but every unemployed person and those dependant on them are taken out of the number who can afford health coverage. Another warning sign that this isn’t about “reform”  is the needed hiring of 14 to 16 thousand new IRS agents to uphold the “reform”  14,000 agents hired at approximately 100k per year translated to 14 billion dollars a year wasted and this is just on new federal bureaucrats at the IRS. There’s money well spent!
Next let’s look at how well big federal programs work. Social Security is a prime example; the SS Trust fund is nothing more than a cash cow for the federal government. There are no hard assets in it, just a lot of government IOU’s. So a system that I paid into all my life is dependent on a government that is running multi trillion dollar deficits for repayment by the taxpayers of whom I am one. That inspires a lot of trust doesn’t it?
Rabbi Fink first off I have great respect for the Jewish peoples contributions to the world throughout history but I don’t agree with many of your brethrens bent towards Marxism/socialism. It seems like you want to recreate an Old Testament Theocracy that has God being replaced with the government i.e.: men. It just doesn’t work.  The failing link is the heart of man as described in Jeremiah 17;9.  Look throughout history and you will see as you give government more power that it will become more corrupt and tyrannical.
What the State of Idaho is doing is trying to protect itself from tyranny. The constitution provided a balance of power between States rights and the Federal government. Which do you prefer, a federal government teetering on the brink of fiscal insolvency due to its inability to reign in spending or a state required by its constitution to balance its budget? The bloated Federal government is encroaching on States rights trying to push fiscally irresponsible policies on states as unfunded mandates.
I almost laughed at your reference to the bibles teaching that we are our brothers keepers. Talk about taking things out of context. Yes WE are our brothers keepers not the bloated bureaucracy we call the federal government. We have a personal responsibility to our fellow man, what we don’t have is a mandate to have our wages taken by force filtered through a government bloat and given away in a manner in which we will have little input.
Rabbi Fink I am sure you are a well educated and well meaning person but it sounds like your education in socialism has overcome your ability to reason. People have immigrated to this country since its inception because of the freedom and opportunity it provided through adherence to a constitution that is being subverted by our current administration.
PS: The name calling and character assassination you had in your letter just demeans your ideas.

Having just read Rabbi Fink’s article I find myself aghast!  What is state mandated health care other than SLAVERY!  He celebrates being delivered from bondage by cheering the bondage of the people by the State that they created.  Per the Declaration of Independence, all power is inherent in the people.  Government is instituted to PROTECT the rights of the People.  I have a RIGHT to do anything, including pay as I go for health care, so long as it harms no one and violates no one’s rights!  The Rabbi must be an Esau Jew!
